Having escaped the snow and freezing weather up north to the balmy heat of Somerest I am now all set for the tour and can't wait to get started with the game against London Irish on Saturday.
Having seen great signs of progress since our first game against the Scots I firmly believe we have the basis of a successful side. A mixture of grunt up front and no lack of guile andpace in the backs bodes well for the next 10 days and what is sure to be a memorable experience.
We must stick to our philosophy of fast, open rugby. There is no point in running straight into the big Italian boys, we must attack space with both width and depth. It is without doubt going to be a tough week with 4 games in 7 days but there is no doubt that with the talent atour disposal we can do it!"
