As with all of our games this season we were our own worst enemy. Indeed it took us a very long time to realise we were the dominant team in the match.
The first half was a disappointing one going down 6 points early on due to giving away lots and lots of penalties, fortunately the Irish only converted 2 out of the 4 penalties they attempted. The Lambs played most of the rugby, with the Exiles playing the percentage game, kicking for territory and waiting for us to make a mistake, which in fairness to them is exactly what we did!
The second half was a massive step up for us in terms of cutting down on the penalties and mistakes. We were finally able to play the flowing rugby which we believe in, and we very quickly got an early try, which was then followed by two more.
We continued to dominate all the way to final whistle, unfortunately a few more penalties conceded crept in so we did not finish with a bang, but I guess we can just blame that on fatigue from the very wet and tough conditions.
Overall it was another great game to learn from in preparation for the tour to Italy .
